April Allen, APRN

April Allen, APRN, attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing and in Spanish. She completed her master’s in Nursing from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and has been certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2006.

April joined Inpatient Physician Associates in 2017 and brings extensive experience in a variety of areas, including six years as an ICU registered nurse in the Burn Center at CHI Health St. Elizabeth and 15 years as a nurse practitioner at Bryan Health, ten of those as a Cardiology nurse practitioner. She served on Bryan Health’s Venous Thromboembolism Committee for seven years, and is currently serving on Bryan Health’s Congestive Heart Failure Committee.

Harrisburg, South Dakota is where April grew up. She is married to Chris and they have one son, Rhys, and two dogs. When not spending time with family, she volunteers with TeamMates. She also assists with her son's Boy Scout Troop, teaching first aid and helping with camping trips.
